A message from the Parents and Friends Committee

04.06.18

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Winter already! The year is flying by and it’s nice to know there is a long weekend on the horizon.

Chocolate boxes have now gone out, you should all have a box unless you opted out or chose to donate. Thanks to everyone who is participating, it’s a vital fundraiser for the school with all money going towards classroom and playground resources for our children. More boxes are available at the Bridge St office if you would like to participate or are able to sell more. Remember that you can pay via QKR (so very easy) or at either office, all money is due back by Friday 22 June. Happy selling!

The children’s first lunch order for the term was a great success as always. The next one is Pizza and Donuts! Many thanks to Marryatville Pizza Pan for their continued support and Vikki and Rebecca for organising. Get your orders in via QKR by Thursday 7th June. You can also pick up paper forms from the office; QKR is preferred as it reduces the administration time for our volunteers, thus enabling us to provide an extra lunch order this term – it’s a win, win situation!

The Preschool is now running a free playgroup session each Friday morning of term. It’s a great way to meet new people and for your little ones to join in some structured play time. 9am to 11am Fridays at Bridge St.

QUIZ NIGHT – DATE CHANGE

Our Quiz Night date has changed, it’s now Saturday 1st September, pop it in your diary. For you AFL fans it’s the Bye round so no excuse not to attend! Mary MacKillop have once again allowed us use of their Gymnasium, many thanks to their community for the loan of their wonderful facilities.

Major Community events like these take a combined effort to make sure they are a success. We are looking for assistance to utilise connections and create networks as well as the volunteering of time. Please look out for the information that is going to be sent home looking for volunteers and community support. There are timeframes outlined in the correspondence, please get in touch with your networks or us in a timely manner to ensure a fantastic 2018 Quiz Night.

In a small community like ours, at SJMS, we can all play a role in making it the best it can be, not only for our children but for all those connected to it.

With thanks

Megan and Bridget
