A message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This is the final newsletter for the year and it only seems like yesterday that I welcomed everybody back after the Summer holidays. We’ve had another fantastic year in school, marked by many highlights. It’s not easy to capture the essence of this year in a couple of lines but I’ll try my best. This year we have been continually blessed by your children with their unique idiosyncrasies, personalities and traits; each one a contributory factor that helps to make our school the special place that it is.

Congratulations to the 2018 SJMS Year 7 Graduates

Remember to live by the SJMS motto and do all things with love, as Mother Teresa reminded us
"It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing.
It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving."

Congratulations to Elysse and Olivia - recipients of the Spirit of MacKillop Award!

A message from the Parents and Friends

Dear Parents and Caregivers

It’s been such a wonderful year of exciting events and community spirit, we’d like to thank all the generous people in our community who volunteered their time and expertise to make 2018 such a fun filled year, we couldn’t have done any of it without such a wonderful team effort. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated staff at St Joseph’s; in all the events we organise their commitment, help and time is truly appreciated.

Farewell from Gail Mantel

A message of sincere thanks to the Community at St Joseph’s Memorial School and Preschool

I would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone for firstly accepting me into your community many years ago and for your ongoing friendship and kindness over the years.

I leave with mixed emotions as this has been my home for a very long time and now I am off to pursue so many other interests.

I have loved my time here with you all and so many before you and you must know that there will always be a special place in my heart for you and this school.

God bless from Gail Mantel

SJMS Book Fair

Special thanks to everyone who supported our Book Fair this term. We sold $3,684.60 worth of books. This was a great outcome. In doing this we raised just over $1,000 which will be used to purchase new books for the school in 2019.

Thank you again for supporting our School Library.

A message from the Sport Coordinator

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As our year comes to a close I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those that made our 2018 sporting year a success. Without parental support as coaches and managers we could not run our After School Sports Program. Our school participated in Summer and Winter Netball, Kanga, B Grade and C Grade Cricket, Basketball in Terms 1&2 and 3&4, Football and Soccer. With over 30 teams participating in local competitions we have provided lots of opportunities for children to experience the joy, excitement and sense of achievement that is felt when playing team sport. Playing sport can improve teamwork and leadership skills.
